Johnny Depp is remembered for his commendable acting for Jack Sparrow in the Pirates of the Caribbean, but he was not the first option of the studio for the role. Johnny Depp has played captain Jack Sparrow for years. However, there were many other actors who would have been signed for the same role, and they could have brought up an entirely different character. The movie is centered on Disney’s “Pirates of the Caribbean attraction” in Disney theme parks and also kick-started a film franchise later.
The movie received favorable reviews and proved to be a victory, together with critics appreciating the action, the activity sequences, along with Depp’s performance. The Curse of the Black Pearl has been followed closely by four other different films.
The notable character has turned out to be the face of the franchise; also, Depp’s particular performance is the most significant contributor to Jack Sparrow’s victory, which explains the reason why it’s hard to assume somebody else playing this role.
A lot of celebrities were offered or were considered for Jack Sparrow’s role, but they didn’t make it through. Maybe it’s because of the versatility which the role demands. Writer and co-creator Stuart Beattie wrote some the part using Hugh Jackman in mind. Disney did not think Jackman was a big enough celebrity to do it. The studio was then interested in Matthew McConaughey, but it did not work out.
In the end, all we can say is that it’s hard to believe that any other actor could have done a better job than Johnny Depp. The way he adopted the character and acted made him a lot of fans all around the world. The franchise also owes to him for this fantastic journey and success.
